New Orleans happy hour has a house style: a discounted balcony pour, then something from the fryer or the raw bar. These are the signature sips and bites the venues themselves print on their own pages — with prices only where the bar published them.
Sips the houses name
Tableau (616 St. Peter, French Quarter) posts the most specific cocktail list in the directory: $4 private-label chardonnay and cabernet, and $7 sparkling rosé, classic lime daiquiri, and French 75 in gin or cognac, Wednesday–Sunday 3–6. Boulevard American Bistro (801 Magazine, Warehouse District) posts $4 beer, $7 select wine and call cocktails, and $8 premium and specialty cocktails — Monday all day, Tuesday–Sunday 3–6. Meril (424 Girod, Warehouse District) posts daily 3–6 at the bar: $4 draft beer, $7 vodka cocktails, $7 palomas, $7 old fashioneds, a $10 select vodka martini, and half off wines by the glass. The Rum House on Magazine posts Island Time happy hour Monday and Wednesday–Friday 3–6 with $5–$8 drink specials — Caribbean rum energy at the lowest printed cocktail band in the Garden District.
Bites worth crossing the street for
Tableau's balcony bites run $10–$19: red bean hummus ($10), baked goat cheese ($11), smoked fish dip ($11), pulled pork sliders ($13). Boulevard's small plates run $9–$11: garlic Parmesan fries ($9), hot honey buffalo oysters ($10), tuna poke dip ($11). Meril's bar bites run $8–$10: fries ($8), gumbo ($8), deviled eggs ($9), wings and margherita flatbread ($10). Then there is the raw bar: Seaworthy (630 Carondelet) posts oyster happy hour 7 days a week, 4–6 PM, with half-off all raw oysters and drink specials — no dollar amounts on the page, so treat it as a window-only row and ask the bar for the day's price.

How to run it
Start at Tableau at 3 for the $7 French 75 and a $10–$11 bite. Walk the river side to the Warehouse District for Meril or Boulevard by 5. If it is oyster weather, Seaworthy's 4–6 window is the standing date — confirm the shuck price at the bar, since the house doesn't print one. Full windows live on Deals and On now.
